…The sister’s horses cut through the forest quickly, and reached a vast clearing known as Gren Valley.
Elizabeth suddenly yelled, “I’ll race you, and beat you!"
She then pulled the reins and started Lark into a gallop. Guinevere didn’t hear her because Argo had started barking her head off and abruptly run over a nearby hill. Guinevere pulled up her horse and scanned the landscape, She repeatedly attempted to call Elizabeth back to her, but Elizabeth was too far away to hear anything. She soon started worrying about Argo, because it had quickly passed ten minutes, and she saw no sign of her dog. Guinevere kicked Misty and started toward the hill Argo had gone to. When she reached it, she heard pleading whines from inside the caves heart. She jumped off Misty, and headed into the cave’s mouth.
A squire named Philip happened to be riding nearby, and he was troubled by this sudden decision from Guinevere. He too started toward the hill to find out what was going on. When he was about a meter from the caves mouth, he heard barking and the most ear-piercing scream he had ever heard. He galloped his horse into the cave, and found an ugly dragon standing over the maiden and her dog, both lying on the ground. The dragon was seventeen feet tall, and that had slimy, dark green scales for skin. He grabbed his lance, and knocked the dragon over with it.
He yelled, “Grab onto my hand!”
She caught his arm, and he rode her and Argo as fast as he could out of the cave. The dragon though was smart. He grabbed onto the horse’s hind leg and broke it. The horse whinnied in surprise and went down. Sir Philip and Guinevere still holding Argo were thrown onto the grass and off the horse, a good distance apart. Ignoring the unconscious girl, the dragon abruptly attacked the squire, knowing he would make a finer meal. Philip tried to grab his lance, but the dragon got it before him and snapped it in two.
As it came closer to Philip’s face, the squire could smell the blood and rot of past kills on the dragon’s breath. He tried to grab his sword, but it and the scabbard had dislodged and were lying three feet away. Argo crawled from Guinevere’s arms with the last strength she had and clenched the sword hilt in her jaws. She carried it to the squire and fainted from exhaustion.
Sir Philip grabbed the sword, and plunged it into the dragon’s heart. He was covered with dragon blood, and his armor ruined, but he was alive. Sir Philip caught Misty, put Guinevere and Argo up, and hopped on the back. He carried the dragons head in his free arm and galloped away from cave. When he arrived back at Camelot, he was made a knight of the Round Table. He soon married Guinevere, and Elizabeth married Philip’s brother. Sir Philip, Guinevere, Elizabeth, and Argo lived happily ever after.
