Arnen.org was started as a place where my writing could find sanctuary without borders, without limits. I have posted my work on several sites such as fictionpress.com and fanfiction.net. I received a lot of good feedback and comments through those sites, but none of them were truly "mine". Also, they lack the ability to post addendum, links, or resources for stories, so that readers can have reference material as they go along. I want to change that, and thus this site was born.
The Author
My first pen name was Kaye Thorn, and I decided to keep it once my stories started getting more notoriety. My real name is Jen. I am 23 years old, but I learned my love of writing long ago in seventh grade. My teacher (who was an author), encouraged us to produce works of fiction. I did not know how much fun it was until then. I did not produce anything for awhile after that. However, I started looking online at information about my favorite books or movies, and came across stories written by other people. This was my first introduction to fan fiction. Occasionally my original fiction has poked its head up since then.
In addition to writing, I enjoy a plethora of other interests. This includes photography, animals, gardening, books, languages, and ancient history. My favorite movie/book Lord of the Rings has been the central fandom I've been interested in these past five years, and continues to be. Besides Tolkien, my other favorite poets and authors are Margaret George, Carl Sagan, Chaucer, Jared Diamond, TS Eliot, Virginia Hamilton, and Jack London.
